Frequently Asked Questions
How does the booking process work?
After you select a vehicle and dates, you pay a booking advance online to secure the reservation. Rodavia sends you a voucher with the supplier's details and rental terms. At the counter, you present the voucher, your documents, and complete the agreement directly with the local company. The balance and any deposit are handled on-site according to the supplier's policy.
What will I receive after booking?
You will get a confirmation email with your voucher attached. The voucher includes the supplier's name, address, contact number, pick-up instructions, coverage details, and any special conditions. Keep it handy - you'll show it when you collect the vehicle.
Can I change or cancel my reservation?
Modifications and cancellations depend on the rate you chose and how far in advance you request the change. Some rates allow free cancellation up to a certain number of days before pick-up; others are non-refundable. Check your voucher or contact us at [email protected] before the rental starts.
What documents do I need at pick-up?
Bring your voucher, a valid driving licence held for at least the minimum period stated in the terms, passport or national ID, and a payment card in the main driver's name. Some suppliers require a credit card for the deposit hold; prepaid or debit cards may not be accepted for that purpose.
What are the age and licence requirements?
Most suppliers require the driver to be at least 21 years old and to have held a licence for one year. Drivers under 25 may face a young-driver supplement. Premium or larger vehicles often have higher age thresholds - 25 or even 30. Always check the specific conditions on your voucher.
How does the fuel policy work?
The standard arrangement is full-to-full: you collect the vehicle with a full tank and return it full. If you bring it back with less fuel, the supplier will charge for the missing litres plus a refuelling fee. INA and Petrol stations are widespread along the coast and motorways.
Can I cross borders or take ferries?
Most suppliers permit travel within Croatia and to neighbouring EU countries - Slovenia, Hungary, and often Bosnia-Herzegovina - but you must declare your itinerary at pick-up and check if a cross-border fee applies. For ferries, Jadrolinija and others carry vehicles to islands such as Brac and Hvar; you book the ferry ticket separately. Confirm ferry travel with the supplier if restrictions exist.
What if I have an issue during the rental?
Contact the supplier first using the phone number on your voucher - they manage the vehicle and roadside assistance. If you cannot resolve the matter directly, reach Rodavia at +385 21 786 493 or [email protected] during business hours (Mon-Sun, 8:00 - 19:00 CET) and we will help coordinate a solution.
